Privacy Notice

For the SterlingTutors waitlist. Last updated 10 October 2026.

This notice covers the waitlist only. When the SterlingTutors platform launches, it will have its own privacy notice, and we will tell you before anything changes.

Who we are

SterlingTutors connects families in the UAE with vetted UK tutors for online lessons. For anything about your data, email hello@sterlingtutors.ae.

What we collect

Only the answers you give in a waitlist form, and nothing else.

Parent and student waitlist

Who is filling it in (a parent or guardian, or a student aged 16 or over)
Your first and last name, email, mobile number and where you live
For each child (or for you, as a student): first name, school year, curriculum, exam board, subjects, and, if you choose, current and target grades and goals
If you choose: preferred lesson times, when you'd like to start, budget, anything else you tell us, and how you heard about us
That you agreed to be contacted, and whether you want news and launch updates

We don't ask for a child's date of birth, school name or photo. Students under 16 can't sign up themselves; a parent or guardian does it for them.

Tutor waitlist

Your first and last name, email, mobile number and the UK town or city you teach from
Whether you have the right to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS certificate
The subjects, levels and exam boards you teach, your experience, current role and qualifications
If you choose: your Teacher Reference Number, examiner board, availability, expected rate, hours, LinkedIn link, why you'd like to tutor with us, and how you heard about us
That you agreed to be contacted

We also record when you sent the form and which page it was on. We don't ask for documents or references at this stage; please don't send them.

Why we collect it

To run the waitlist: to tell you when we launch and give you early access.
To match families with suitable tutors, and to understand which subjects, levels and times families need.
For tutors: to decide whom to invite to apply when we start vetting.
To send news and launch updates, only if you ticked the box for them.

We use your details on the basis of the consent you give when you send the form. We never sell them or use them for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep waitlist details for up to 12 months after you join, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. If you become a SterlingTutors customer or tutor at launch, the platform's privacy notice applies from then on.

Your choices and how to ask for deletion

See a copy of what we hold about you
Correct anything that is wrong
Stop news and launch updates at any time
Have your details deleted

Email hello@sterlingtutors.ae from the address you signed up with, saying what you'd like us to do (for example, “Please delete my waitlist details”). We will reply within one month and confirm when it's done.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use waitlist details, we will update this page and its date, and email you first if the change matters. See also our Terms.
